How to Apply

1. For best results, wet Schultz Potting Bark with water before use. Shake excess soil off plant, remove dead roots and trim healthy roots to 6 inches to promote new growth.

2. Use a new pot that allows 1 or 2 inches for new root growth. Partially fill pot with Schultz Potting Bark, estimating where plant will rest so its base or crown is slightly below rim level.

3. Position monopodial (one-stem) plants in center of pot. Sympodial (multi-stemmed) orchids should rest against the pot wall to encourage growth toward the center. Stake plant if necessary to keep stems from sprawling.

4. Add mix around plant and stake to cover roots and fill pot to 3/4 inch from rim top. Water thoroughly to settle mixture. Add more mix as needed.

When to Apply

Use Schultz Potting Bark as a growing medium for orchids and other epiphytic plants. Also apply as a soil cover to the top of all potted plants, baskets and container gardens.
